Atos ranked ‘Best Workplaces 2012’ in Poland


Paris was named Best Workplaces 2012’ in Poland. This award endorses the Company’s ‘Wellbeing@work’ global transformation program. Set up in 2010, the programme aims to design working environment of the future where people aspire to work., At the heart of the programme is how technology can enable new ways of working that both support a better work-life balance for our employees and also make the business more efficient.
 
During a Gala ceremony at the Warsaw Stock Exchange organized by Great Place to Work Institute Poland, representatives of Atos in Poland received the award as ‘one out of three best places to work for in Poland’ for companies employing over 500 people. The only one IT services company in the 2012 list.
 
The ‘Great Place to Work’ rank is based on two processes, an in-depth survey and culture audit. Criteria that are surveyed include the management’s credibility, respect and trust to employees and to the organization they work for. For the past four years Great Place to Work Institute has awarded only a small number of companies in Poland that comply with these high standards of work culture.

Atos and its partners, Academica’s and Helsingin Energia’s received a prestigious award for their green cloud data center. The center provides the city of Helsinki with energy based on heat recovery and received the ICT Project of the Year award during the 600 Minutes Executive IT event that took place in Finlandia Hall, the evening of 14 March. The CIO Jury said that the project improves the IT industry's image, shows a genuine spirit of innovation and has demanded a strong partnership between different actors.
 
The prize-winning Atos cloud data center is part of Academica’s 5000 m2 Suvilahti data center. Atos goal was to set up a strategic global data center eco-efficiently, energy-efficiently and cost-effectively, and it selected partners Academica and Helsingin Energia that had built the highly eco-efficient Uspenski data center earlier. Suvilahti is a unique place in that it is located in district cooling loop and transfer points at the intersection, next to the plant and growing area of Kalasatama.

This eco-efficient data center will serve European customers and is one of the many initiatives to achieving Atos sustainable goals. The green data center utilizes eco-efficient cooling provided by Helsingin Energia, and the extra heat created by its servers will be transferred to the district heating network to provide heat and warm water for 4,500 new 80 m2 apartments in the city. Atos has a total of 13 Global Data Centers and 50 Local Data Centers.

During SAPPHIRE NOW that took place in Madrid last month, Atos received the  ‘SAP Mobility Showcase Award for SAP Partners’ for its iPad app based on SAP’s premium solution for Environment, Health & Safety. The company also took home the Gold SAP Quality Award at an EMEA level with its customer Sabena Technics « Implementation of new applications».

The award was presented to Atos in recognition and to acknowledge its enterprise mobility applications that demonstrate ‘the art of the possible’ in mobilizing business processes and the mobile experience.  Atos demonstrated, rapid time to value and the ability to effectively address the requirements of the business while minimizing complexity. Atos built the iPad app for Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S), a domain in which Atos is a recognized global leader. The app provides security officers a very user-friendly access to critical data and procedures in case a calamity strike their plant. Information on the quantity and location of hazardous goods are displayed on the iPad. The app gets all of its information in several languages from SAP via Sybase.

The awards recognizes the breadth of Atos SAP expertise combined with its knowledge of the business and industrial customers. It recognizes the company’s ability to deliver on time and on budget projects for business transformation and technology providing high value added our customers.
Sabena technics, a French group of aircraft maintenance, which employs over 3,000 employees across 17 sites, was recognized for its innovative project 'Pegasus' on the convergence of major business functions of the group (equipment repair, logistics, and integrated services preventive maintenance). The project deployed on the sites of Bordeaux, Brussels and Miami, has been implemented jointly by J & M Consulting, SOA People, Atos and SAP France. Atos has been involved in the technical realization of very specific business functions, including the management of repair of landing gear as well as preventive maintenance of equipment and interface with EDI SPEC2000.

Atos has won the prestigious "Best CIO blog" award at the 2011 Computer Weekly Social Media Awards in London.


The award, which recognizes the best blogs written by and for CIOs and IT directors, and concerning the latest insights from senior management across the industry, was won against some very stiff competition. This is a great result, especially after being the runner-up in last year’s awards.

Atos has been delivering  Managed services to Huawei  - who has a contract with KPN International for installation and management of a MVNE platform – since end 2010. Huawei has a reputation of being a very customer focused company, a culture that fits well with Atos. High standard criteria on tooling processes and solutions needed to be met, to become a registered supplier of Huawei. After meeting their strict criteria and executing to the full satisfaction of Huawei, Atos was selected and has collaborated on a number of bids. End February 2012 the two parties formed a partnership in order to address the growing global telecom market and targeting telecom operators that operate on a worldwide level. Huawei offers solutions - software and hardware – and in particular Next Generation BSS.

Atos has received the 2011 ICT Quality Award for Best Practices in the provision of ICT services, which is awarded annually by the Spanish Quality Association (AEC). The Award, which was presented today during the 2011 CSTIC Conference, is considered to be the most prestigious prize in Spain in the area of quality in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.


With this award, the AEC singled out the “Kanban Software” project implemented by Atos. Kanban Software was set up two years ago, as one of Atos initiatives focused on promoting continuous improvement in the delivery processes of the integration systems service line. The project was aimed at the study and application of agile-Lean practices in software life cycle processes, and it currently forms part of the Consulting Portfolio in the IT Delivery COE, managed globally from Atos Spain.


The AEC’s ICT Quality Award seeks to publically recognise those companies or institutions which have successfully used a quality strategy in ICT, or have decisively contributed to the creation or implementation of good practices in the field of ICT, in order to improve competitiveness.

Following a competition organized by SAP Belgium during its World Tour, IT services companies were competing in the world of mobile innovation combined with SAP software. Atos Origin won the first price with an iPad app based on SAP’s premium solution for Environment, Health & Safety.  The contest was named ‘Rapid ROI and increased productivity with mobile applications’.

A jury of senior SAP officials and customers awarded the first price to the Atos Origin team for its app that provides security officers a very user-friendly overview of what needs to be done should a calamity strike their plant.  Immediately, information on the quantity and location of hazardous goods are displayed on the iPad.

January 26th 2011, SAP presents Atos Origin with ‘Most Innovative Partner’ Award

Software developer SAP has presented Atos Origin with the Award for Most Innovative Partner during the annual SAP Partner Awards 2010. Atos Origin won the award for the development of the Sustainability Performance Management Dashboard for the manufacturing, retail and telecoms markets. The dashboard was developed for Akzo Nobel, amongst others and is used by Atos Origin itself. 

The innovative Sustainability Performance Management Dashboard, developed using SAP, states the position of a business in making their processes sustainable in a concise manner. It also clarifies which measures and processes support the objectives for sustainable growth and to what extent they do so. The relationship between these measures is also highlighted by the dashboard.

November 30th 2010, Atos Origin wins the 2010 ‘Mare Nostrum’ National Spanish Computing Award for its support to R&D in the IT sector

Atos Origin received the ‘Mare Nostrum’ National Computing Award, awarded by the Spanish Society of Computer Science (SCIE), which honours “the most distinguished private activity in favour of computer engineering throughout the year”. The award, which takes its name from the supercomputer located in Barcelona, is the most important award presented in Spain in the area of R&D in the Information and Communication Technologies sector, and rewards aspects such as a significant investment in R&D in computing, the use of advanced ICT technologies, the promotion and dissemination of computing, and the creation of quality employment in the sector, amongst other aspects. The award was presented to Patrick Adiba, CEO Atos Origin Iberia - Olympics & Major Events, by José Carlos Rubio, Secretary General of the Spanish Department of Science and Innovation, during a professional luncheon organised by the SCIE in Madrid.

November 11th  2010 - Atos Origin wins the University-Company Award for its R&D activity in cooperation with universities

The Spanish Royal Family presented the award to Jose Maria Cavanillas, Atos Research & Innovation Director at the fifth annual award ceremony.

Atos Origin was selected due to its collaboration with Spanish universities and the company’s contribution to their international projects. The company is currently managing 96 EU projects together with Spanish universities, which is helping to promote their image abroad.

The Award also recognises Atos Origin’s strong commitment to R&D. Since 1987, the company has managed more than 300 EU projects.


October 2010 - Atos Origin wins the Renault Global Award for Facilities and Services during the 2009 Supplier Quality Awards

At the recent Paris Motor Show, Renault presented its Supplier Quality Awards to eleven parts and service suppliers in recognition of their outstanding quality and logistics performance in 2009.

Atos Origin won the Global Award for Facilities and Services (software applications) being described as giving “a shining performance in terms of quality-cost-delivery. It is a best-in-class supplier for Renault.” The awards were presented by Jean-Pierre Vallaude, Senior Vice President Quality, and Christian Vandenhende, Senior Vice President Purchasing, and Managing Director of the Renault-Nissan Purchasing Organization.

May 25th 2010 - Atos Origin awarded B+ by GRI for its first Sustainability report

It received the award for YOMANI, the new multi-lane payment terminal launched by Atos Worldline in November 2009. The international “red dot award: product design” is awarded by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany, and ranks among the largest and most renowned design competitions in the world. With the YOMANI payment terminal, Atos Worldline introduces a unique design in the payment area. The terminal incorporates three payment interfaces – magnetic-stripe, chip and contactless – and a large full-colour display, all in a small footprint. Atos Worldline, a subsidiary of Atos Origin and a major European IT player in the processing of high-volume electronic transactions, received the ‘Walter Möller insignia’ Award in recognition of its long term support to the Monikahaus orphanage in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany. For over nine years staff from Atos Worldline have supported the Monikahaus, orphanage which looks after over 60 children and teenagers from disadvantaged families.

The award is presented every two years to organizations and local groups which have provided outstanding services to the public well being of the City of Frankfurt.

In France, Auchan and Carrefour, France Telecom, Banque Postale  and a department in the Ministry of Economics, have all recently signed contracts for this new offering which addresses test and acceptance processes as well as the process of preparing for the software to move to operations.

Atos Worldline has won the 2008 Innovation Award for its innovative paperless tickets solution delivered via mobile phone and developed for Air France KLM. This new mobile boarding pass solution offers Air France KLM an innovative alternative to hard tickets for its customers on the move. To access the service, passengers need simply to log onto Air France KLM Internet mobile websites, from which they have the possibility to check in, receive a boarding pass and access the full range of services via mobile phone. They can get real-time information on their flights, flight schedules and their Flying Blue account.
